  • Address: 3667 S Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109
  • Phone: 702 736 0111
  • Standout features: FlowRider: Wave in a Box and a rooftop view

The Scene Pool Deck houses two pools and a FlowRider. It is one of the few rooftop pools in Vegas that rivals the likes of Boulevard Pool at the Cosmo, Pool á Paris, Alexandria pool in Sahara Las Vegas, and the Resorts World pool.

You get a clear view of some of the Vegas Strip buildings from the Eiffel Tower Replica and the Aria Resort. However, most of the Strip action is not in sight as various structures obstruct the 6th-floor pool from other buildings, palm trees, and concrete walls.

The minute you walk into the Planet Hollywood 6th floor, you are greeted by many free loungers on the lower deck. This is where you will get the towel station, the restaurant, and the concierge.

The upper decks are where the pools and FlowRider are situated. The environment is uplifting, vibrant, and quite breathtaking, from the number of palm trees to the large dessert plant fixtures scattered across the deck.

All the pools get a good dose of the Vegas sun on the rooftop. A cool breeze sweeps through the whole section, and you can hear a glimpse of the loud music from the adult pool even at the entrance.

The lower deck houses one bar where you can get all your beverages, be it alcoholic or non-alcoholic. There are also a few assortments of bar snacks and quick bites. The FlowRider is set close to the bar, and you can usually expect to see some guests splashing in the waves.

Right across from the entrance is where you will have to go to access the two pools. The adult pool is on the South side of the deck, and the kid-friendly pool is on the North side, facing each other on top of raised decks.

South Pool: Adult only (21 +)

The life of the party at the Planet Hollywood Pool is for adults only and features a bar for your usual pool party refreshments. Its design is rectangular, similar to the one for the North Pool. The entrance to the venue is decorated with colorful posters that put you in a joyful and party mood.

South Pool has live DJ entertainment that gets pretty loud past noon. If you want a quiet day of swimming and relaxation, you may want to come in earlier. The electrifying party scene is complemented by the bar that serves classic and shareable cocktails alongside beers, champagne, wine, and energy drinks. There is also bottle service.

Cabanas come in deluxe packages as well as premium and regular. Daybeds are plenty; you will find most of them unoccupied in the morning. Booking for these spaces is on a first-come, first serve basis, and your booking is only reserved till noon.

North Pool: All Ages

North Pool accommodates guests of all ages. It is quiet compared to the South Pool, but you can still hear faint loud DJ mixes from the adult section. There is no bar in this area, but a hot tab is located next to the pool for more entertainment.

North Pool cabanas are not versatile compared to South Pool but are much cheaper. Several daybeds surround the pool and are equipped with canopies.

Flowrider

Planet Hollywood Flowrider

The wave machine is a professional freestanding wave simulator that mimics sea waves to help guests surf and perform other thrilling wave riding activities. It is one of its kind that cannot be found in any other Vegas resort.

The stationary machine measures about 30 ft by 50 ft and is filled with up to 16,000 gallons of water splashed up to 30 miles per hour. It is an intense, loud experience, producing between 25 – 85 dB of sound. Do not worry about falling off or getting injured since it is well padded for soft falls and has the energy-absorbing tech for impacts.

Even though it is a unique feature of the pool, many people find it a gimmick and opt to stay in the two pools. The resort charges $30 per person for a session for 30 minutes, but Nevada residents with valid IDs only pay $20 for the same session.

It is also essential to remember that the last ride you can book has to be 30 minutes before the pool’s closure. Moreover, only guests with a minimum height of 42” are allowed to boogie board and 48” for surfing.

If you are looking for this thrilling ride, then the planet Hollywood Pool is your only option in Vegas. Otherwise, hotels and resorts outside Vegas provide similar and more exhilarating experiences like the JW Marriott Turnberry Miami resort & spa and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Pool Season and Open Hours

The pool in Planet Hollywood is not heated like the one in Resorts World. Depending on the weather and other conditions, it is a seasonal pool subject to closure under the management’s discretion.

The Scene Deck pool season usually goes from March to October. During these periods, the pool is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday to Thursday. The pool opens for longer on Friday till Sunday, between 10 am and 6 pm.
