History
MGM is the largest hotel in the whole of America, with over 6,800 rooms. It was the first hotel to open before Park MGM in December of 1993. The hotel was themed Wizard of OZ with memorabilia from the legendary stories and an Emerald City color on the building.
1996 brought about the complete demolition of the Wizard of Oz theme. A lot of renovation and refurbishment took place over the years with the inclusion of the MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park.
The park was meant to make the casino hotel popular with families but ended up performing poorly. It was later demolished, and the Signature at MGM Grand was constructed in its place.
Park MGM opened in 1996 as The Monte Carlo costing about $344 million to construct.
Park Theater, which is currently the most significant attraction in the hotel, was built. With 5,200-seat, the Dolby Live Theatre has brought in many visitors, including iconic figures like Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Classic Cher.
The hotel was rebranded from Monte Carlo in 2018 to Park MGM due to a joint venture between MGM Brand and Sydell Group.
Another change that has taken place on the premises is the abolishment of smoking in September 2020. In fact, Park MGM is the first casino resort in Las Vegas that does not permit any form of smoking. Hopefully, others will follow in due time.
Rooms Available
The smoke-free Park MGM resort offers a wide range of rooms and suites. Various options ranging from single rooms to NoMad Las Vegas rooms, Stay Well packages, and Dog-Friendly rooms. The charges start from $69 (for the Park MGM King Room) plus an additional $39 daily resort fees.
The King room has a cozy alcove king bed and a sofa-sized window seat. There is also a comfy leather chair with a large cocktail table for dining, working, or hanging out with friends.
Park MGM suites combine European styles with modern décor. The Nighthawk suite is a popular option with its walk-in closet, large bathroom, and two separate living spaces that come with two huge 55″ televisions and an entertainment system.
Park MGM also has a Stay Well room package that are tailored to bring you a relaxed stay. This is done by including fresh air and restful amenities such as air purification, aromatherapy, specialized lighting, shower infusers, and a Stay Well Mobile App that gives you access to free Cleveland Clinic Wellness Programs.
NoMad Las Vegas is a hotel on the Park MGM top floors that features 293 rooms and suites, all designed by Jacques Garcia, a French designer, and architect.
The rooms include king-size and queen-size beds to accommodate different guests. There are also dog-friendly options at the resort but keep in mind the maximum number of dogs allowed is two.
MGM Grand, on the other hand, has more accommodation space than Park MGM. The 6,852 accommodation spaces are divided into rooms and suites, including dog-friendly spaces. West Wing King is the cheapest option which is located a few steps from the Hakkasan Nightclub.
MGM Grand used to be slightly more expensive than Park MGM’s most affordable room (at $79 per night) but today you can book rooms for the same $59, plus the $39 daily resort fee.
Other rooms at MGM Grand include ones with a view of the Las Vegas Strip, like the Grand Two Queen Strip View room with 2 Queen beds and a maximum accommodation of four guests.

Topgolf is a unique concept in the MGM Grand. It is an exciting sport that lets you hit golf balls while aiming at giant outfield targets, all in the confinement of a climate-controlled hitting bay inside the hotel. There are huge HDTVs in the bays spanned across four levels.
Levels one and two come with private meeting rooms and event spaces and two hitting bays and bars. Levels three and four feature two pools for anyone above 21, VIP cabanas, hitting bays, private suites, three bars, and event spaces.

MGM Rewards Members receive complimentary self-parking if their level is Pearl, Gold, Platinum, or Noir. MGM Rewards Mastercard cardholders also receive complimentary parking. All of this is subject to availability.
From Monday to Thursday, the first hour of self-parking is free at both premises. 1-4 hours of parking costs $15, 4-24 hours costs $18, and over 24 hours costs an additional $18. Each additional day costs $18.
