It is important to note that the lazy river is the busiest part of the pool complex. Most guests visit the pool area for the relaxing swirl down the river more than they want to join in on the pool parties and dance to some live music.
If you are looking for a festive party scene, then MGM Grand pool maybe not live up to your standards. On the other hand, if you want the most family-friendly pool affair or just a chill, relaxing stay in the whirlpools, then this is where you want to be.
MGM Grand Pool Complex
The pool complex is located at the back of the hotel at the far end of The District. It may seem like a maze the first time you visit, but you learn to get around pretty quickly, especially when you stick together with your fellow guests.
There are lots of signs that show you the directions to various sites with ease. At the entrance, you will get to see the current pool hours, which are tentative and subject to availability depending on the season, events, and weather.
The Wet Republic Ultra Pool for adults only (21 years plus) is the most popular of the four swimming pools. It is marketed as the hippest and most lively place to be for an exciting pool party with DJ features from the likes of Steve Aoki and Martin Garrix.
It is a 54,500 square feet venue that hosts celebrity events and huge pool parties, especially during the summer. Of this huge space, 6,000 square feet is filled with pool sections for dipping in and swimming while tuning to the eclectic ambiance. Next to it is a 2,500 square feet lounge area with a bar.
The Wet Republic pool opened in early March of 2022 and has been the talk of the town for loud parties between Thursday and Sunday from 11 am.
The MGM Grand main pool is next to the Wet Republic and is open to all ages. There are also two saltwater pools measuring between 2500 and 3500 square feet.
MGM Grand Lazy River
Grand Pool lazy river is smaller than Mandalay Bay lazy river but still vast, covering a total length of 1,000 feet. The Lazy River goes up to 3.5 feet deep, which is substantially low compared to the swimming pools.
The loop meanders through the Grand Pool complex through a series of artificial fixtures like waterfalls, bridges, and the many tropical palm trees at the shores.
If you want an easier way to navigate the pool complex, then the lazy river is the way to go. It passes through multiple areas, including entrance and exit rails from the pool.
Mgm Grand Pool Fees & Amenities
Please do not forget that only MGM Grand hotel guests are allowed into the pool complex. No form of a day pass or entrance fee is charged to non-guests to give them access to the pool. You also can’t get in by booking a cabana or daybed; only hotel guests are allowed to book these spaces.

In case of any cancellations or delays, the guest is encouraged to contact the staff by 11 am to inform them of any such changes. Failure to do so will result in the release of the cabana, pod, or daybed at a 100% cancellation charge.
It is also important to remember that no outside foods or alcoholic drinks are allowed at the MGM Grand pool. You also have to enter the pool with circular tubes if you are carrying a refreshing beverage or water. Glass items are not allowed anywhere in the pool section of the hotel.
The management reserves the right to add any prohibited items to its list, but currently, the unpermitted items to MGM Grand pool include glass items, novelty tubes, weapons, fins, coolers, pool toys, flippers, drugs, and hookahs.
Please remember that you cannot exceed the number of guests who occupy your cabana, pod, or daybed. Only ten people can stay/stand in a cabana, four guests for the daybeds and 2 for the pods.
Guests must rent another cabana/pod/daybed if maximum occupancy is exceeded. You also can’t book a specific cabana since the location is subject to availability upon your arrival at the Grand Pool Complex.
