In Vegas, the self-styled Entertainment Capital of the World, if you’re looking for somewhere to party, you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Sin City is packed with all manner of clubs and bars to cater to every taste, but for those intent on spending a night on the tiles in luxurious, glitzy surroundings while grooving to the sounds of some of the world’s best DJs, the vibrant Jewel nightclub is not to be missed.
And if that sounds like your kind of scene, here’s everything you need to know about one of Vegas’ most exciting nightspots.
Jewel Nightclub Overview
- Location: Aria Resort and Casino
- Opening Hours: Fri – Sun, 10:30pm to 4:00am
- Age Limit: 21+
- Music: EDM, Top 40
Jewel opened in 2016, replacing the nightclub known as Haze. It’s located in the Aria Resort and Casino, itself one of the jewels in the crown of the MGM CityCenter complex, right in the heart of Vegas’ world-famous Strip.
Boasting rooms filled with smart energy-saving features, Aria was famously described by Popular Mechanics as “the most technologically advanced hotel ever built”.
The resort is home to 16 restaurants along with 10 bars and nightclubs – of which Jewel is arguably the most compelling.
As soon as you walk through the doors into the lobby of the club, you’ll be blown away by the plush interior, the stunning décor and the fine attention to detail.
Then, making your way further into the venue, you’ll emerge into the Main Club area where you’ll catch your first glimpse of the mesmerizing Dreamwall, one of the club’s highlights, a spectacular riot of color and lighting effects that needs to be seen to be believed.
As you would expect, the club also offers several fully-stocked bars – as well as a selection of sumptuous VIP areas for those who require more intimacy and personal service.
So in short, if you want the perfect venue to party the night away, Jewel is a club that is sure to deliver.
What Is The Layout Of The Club?
The Jewel nightclub covers two levels, the Main Club area and the Mezzanine Balcony.
The first floor of the club incorporates the dancefloor and DJ booth, which is backed by the Dreamwall. The booth is separated from the dancefloor by just a few feet, allowing the DJ to connect with the crowd and the clubbers to feed off the DJ’s energy.
Opposite the DJ booth and on either side of the dancefloor are located the three Main Club bars. The dancefloor is also surrounded by the Main Club VIP tables.
When you need a break from the frenetic action of the main room, you can head up the renowned and hugely impressive LED Staircase – the first of its kind on the Vegas clubbing circuit – to reach the Mezzanine Balcony and the Mezzanine Bar.
This area is open to everyone, but it also features more VIP tables overlooking the Main Club as well as the highly exclusive VIP Skybox Suites.
When Is Jewel Open?
Jewel is open three nights a week, Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, with Fridays and Saturdays being the most popular and lively.
The doors open at 10:30pm and the night usually ends at around 4am. However, to be sure to get in, you should arrive before midnight.
Expect to wait around half an hour in line before accessing the club – although this can increase when a big-name DJ is booked.
What Music Do They Play?
The club’s music policy varies depending on the night, but you can usually expect to hear either a selection from the current Top 40 or music played by some of the leading names in EDM and other electronic music genres.
DJs who have headlined in the past include the likes of Steve Aoki as well as other artists of a similar stature.
Note that when a big-name DJ is booked, prices are likely to be higher and tickets will sell out much more quickly, so if you are interested in seeing a particular DJ, make sure you buy your tickets well in advance.
What’s The Dress Code?
The Jewel nightclub expects patrons wear clothing that suits the surroundings, insisting on what they call “upscale fashionable attire”.
Men are required to wear a collared shirt and shoes. Shorts are not allowed, and neither are flip-flops or sandals. The club also doesn’t allow sneakers or athletic wear of any kind, so if you want to be let in, avoid anything that could be classed as sports gear.
Jewel doesn’t specifically prohibit jeans, but the dress code doesn’t permit torn or oversized clothing, so if you wear jeans, make sure they’re smart.
For ladies, the dress code specifies that backless sandals are not allowed.
Hats are not permitted, and neither are steel-toe or other work-style boots – even fashionable, designer versions.
Tips: The club provides a coat check service for a small fee.
Items Not Allowed Inside
Jewel nightclub has a list of items that are not allowed inside.
Clubbers are not allowed to bring their own food or drink into the venue – obviously!
Bags are also not permitted in the club – although small purses (with a maximum size of 12”x12”x6”) are allowed.
Other prohibited items include video cameras (including GoPros etc.), selfie sticks, weapons and over-the-counter medication. Prescription medicines are potentially allowed in – you should contact the club in advance if you have queries about taking your medication with you.
You should also use your common sense when choosing your accessories since the nightclub refuses to allow entry with anything the management or door staff deem unacceptable.
What Is The Age Policy?
Jewel nightclub has a strict age policy – nobody below the age of 21 is allowed in.
Valid photo ID is required as proof of age, and accepted forms of ID include passports, photo driving licenses and Mexican voter ID cards.
How Much Does It Cost To Get In?
The price of entry varies according to the artists performing on any given night as well as how far in advance you buy your tickets.
Buying tickets as far in advance as possible will help ensure you get the best prices, but as a guide, regular admission usually costs around $30-40 for men and $20-25 for women.
However, expect to pay more for special nights and when big-name DJs are on the line-up.
What’s The Best Way To Purchase Tickets?
Tickets are available on the night, but the best option is to buy them in advance. This way, you are guaranteed entry before midnight and can also get the most favorable prices.
Buying tickets in advance will also mean you spend less time in line since priority is given to those who already have tickets.
If you don’t buy tickets in advance, a limited number are sold on the door, so it’s still possible to get in. However, there is no guarantee of entry – especially when a big-name DJ is playing – and you will also have to wait in line for longer.
Jewel sometimes also operates a guestlist. If you are on the guestlist, you should plan to arrive early since entry is not guaranteed and depends on capacity. The guestlist can close at any time, and if you arrive after midnight, you will not be allowed in.
What Are The Vip Options?
For those who want to make their night out extra-special, Jewel also offers a full range of VIP services.
VIP tables for varying numbers of guests are available both in the Main Club area and on the Mezzanine Balcony. Reserving a VIP table also gives you extra benefits such as VIP entry, a model cocktail server and complimentary mixers.
For even more intimacy and exclusivity, the club also offers several private VIP suites, each with its own unique theme.
For example, the Blind Tiger suite features classic brick décor with wood fittings and brown leather couches.
The G.O.A.T. Suite, on the other hand, has a sports theme and – as you may guess from the name – is decorated with jerseys and memorabilia from some of the greats like Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky.
Standard packages for VIP tables exist, but the club also offers flexible pricing plans to suit all requirements.
